On stage

AufbauEnde is the music project of Marius Heiduck.

After the more andante trance pieces of the first  CD "Devolution unreasonable", produced with Matthias Roeder, the first regular CD "Trust in being [fe]male" was full of hard and broken songs. On the MCDs "Sun" and "Moon" AufbauEnde turned to industrial, then to another direction with "Opus Dei" - more consistent, calm compositions, which are often according to Bach and Prokofjev and shall be understood as modern update to classical music - in addition to influences from Jazz and world music there are still associations to trance and industrial.

After "Opus Dei" went beyond the scope of a CD, the artist decided to make an album ("Aware/Beware") with some cover versions and "relics". And these relics are - from AufbauEnde's point of view today - better than the whole "Opus Dei"-CD. Just "Aura III" and "Ascolta bocca chiusa" are commendable and mark the intersection between the "old" and the "new" AufbauEnde.

In spring 2005 "Corpus Delicti oder Der Tod des Objekts" ("Corpus delicti or the object's death") was completed. The characteristic alternation of "hard" and "soft" parts was increased. While "Hommage à ces dames" sounds a bit medieval, the agressive "Prime time suicide" describes the loss of a very adored person; "Vorfreude" ("Pleasant anticipation") describes the emotions before, "Dialog" the emotions after the birth of Heiduck's son. In the songs there are homages to Philip Glass, Popol Vuh, Limbonic Art, Mysterious Art and Johann Sebastian Bach.

At the moment the next album is in process - seven pieces have been finished yet. It's about the decrease of individualization of the modern human.
The artist is of the opinion that the idea of freedom as it was represented in the era of Enlightenment is in retreat, while simultaneous for most people individuality ist suggusted by the manifold range of toothpastes and TV channels. Also Huxley's vision of the somatization of large parts of society - with separated "rebels" that become more and more inapprehensible (but is there a chance to rebel at all? Every rebellion is killed by a trend scout) - proves right. The betrayal of the self under pressure of media and society is concealed by aesthetic opinions, the result is an appalling degree of self-disgust.
This topic shall be displayed in a "diagnostic" as well as in an alternative describing way.  "Beleben" ("Enliven") e. g. wants to show how a human only through the love of another person reaches the possibility to see himself as really intended and meant being. And not until in love it's possible to get the freedom from manifest or hidden pressure that is necessary to "arrive at the self". "Erwachen" ("Awakening") is the song that describes that.
"Verzweifeln" ("Despair") describes a human being trapped in himself, maneuvering himself into a predicament and finally getting entangled with every action further into a net woven of intention and result.

Marius Heiduck composes ("failing which an orchestra") using miscellaneous computer programs. Ready-made loops are not in use.

AufbauEnde is pleased with your interest and hopes to give you some nice moments. Maybe it's possible to meet each other on a gig. The composer is curious for wishes, suggestions and mutual projects. As you can read in the news, AufbauEnde is still looking for a singer. For contact, questions or wishes please use the "Contact"-Link above.
